The Cape Companies
The Cape Companies is a private real estate investment and development firm that develops, owns, and operates residential real estate in select markets throughout the United States. We seek to make a positive impact on the communities in which we invest by providing thoughtfully designed housing that enhances the living experience for our residents and compliments the immediate surrounding built environment.
Meet Matt
As Principal & Co-Founder of The Cape Companies, Matthew primarily oversees the firm’s day-to-day development operations, sources new opportunities, and implements directional strategies and initiatives. He is also a Managing Partner at Cape Residential; an affiliated homebuilder focused on delivering entry-level & move-up homes for sale throughout North Carolina.
Prior to The Cape Companies, Matthew worked for Tidegate Capital, a real estate private equity firm focused on value-add multifamily & medical-office assets. At Tidegate, he reported directly to the firm's Principals and was responsible for underwriting new prospective investments, overseeing capital improvement plans, and providing asset management to the firm's existing portfolio in the Southeast & Midwest.
Matthew was born in Port St. Lucie, Florida and raised on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He earned a BA in Political Science from Boston University.
