Prior to The Cape Companies, Matthew worked for Tidegate Capital, a real estate private equity firm focused on value-add multifamily investments while simultaneously managing his residential fix and flip business. At Tidegate, he reported directly to the firm's Principals and was responsible for underwriting new prospective investments, overseeing capital improvement plans, and providing asset management to the firm's existing portfolio.

Matthew was born is Port St. Lucie, Florida and raised on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He enjoys exercising, reading, riding his motocross bike, and playing paintball competitively with his team, New England Monopoly. Matthew earned a BA in Political Science from Boston University.
